Republican Morons Claim Whistleblowers Against Biden Family Are Missing

It doesn’t sound like it’s going great for the Republicans in the House trying to conduct an investigation into finances involving the Biden family, including the president and his adult son, Hunter.

Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee in this Congress, now claims that at least one individual — and what sounds like more — who provided information that has fueled Republicans’ supposedly anti-corruption-oriented crusade against the president’s family has gone… missing. An explanation he provided to Fox host Maria Bartiromo sounded like it came from a third-grader just learning about how the American government actually works — no disrespect to grade-schoolers!

“Well, we’re hopeful that we can find the informant,” Comer said. “Remember, these informants are kind of in the spy business, so they don’t make a habit of being seen a lot or being high-profile or anything like that.” You don’t say, James? Are you looking forward to also learning what a U.S. Representative is supposed to do? (Hint: the job description doesn’t involve spouting nonsense.) He claimed most of ten individuals who’ve ostensibly proven to be at least potential sources of information are “either currently in court, they’re currently in jail, or they’re currently missing.”

In a later interview with Steve Bannon, Marjorie Taylor Greene — the far-right Congresswoman from Georgia — also claimed that multiple whistleblowers are, in fact, missing, though she specified that an individual responsible for a past claim of malfeasance involving Biden that Oversight Republicans have pursued with cooperation from Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) supposedly is not missing. She also claimed a key person — seemingly the, you know, not missing one — is supposedly fearful of potentially losing their life amid their role in publicizing supposed claims of corruption. It’s unclear there’s absolutely any evidence in support of actually imagining that kind of threat.

Democrats have also debunked what would apparently be that individual’s claims, which involve a supposed arrangement seeing a policy move taken in response to some financial transaction. “Committee Republicans are recycling unsubstantiated claims floated by Senate Republicans by issuing a subpoena to the FBI to require the release of a June 2020 tip from an unknown informant,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) recently said in prepared remarks. “During this same time period, Rudy Giuliani and Russian agents, sanctioned by Trump’s Treasury Department, were peddling disinformation aimed at interfering in the 2020 presidential election.”

Democrats also recently pointed out that it’s apparently been found in explanations for Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) connected to the Bidens that financial institutions sometimes pointed to media reports and Republican investigations… and Republicans have subsequently used these documents in support of further expanding their probes. In short, it’s circular.
