Trump’s Cronies Blasted For Pushing ‘Made-Up, Ridiculous Bullsh*t’ As Election Approaches

Journalist John Harwood blasted Trump supporters in the Republican Party this weekend for peddling what he characterized as utterly “bullshit.”

In an interview with Fox host Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) argued that President Joe Biden was “jacked up” during his “State of the Union” address to Congress this year. (The original interview is from a couple of weeks ago.) Even Bartiromo — known as a Trump ally in a manner similar to Donalds — pushed back, noting they didn’t know it to be the case that Biden was on any kind of substance along those lines.

The “amount of fake, made-up, ridiculous bullshit these people circulate is astonishing,” Harwood replied online.

Considering precedent, Bartiromo might have had in the back of her mind the legal problems that Fox already faced for its argued role in facilitating the spread of deceptive claims about the 2020 presidential election. The election technology company Dominion Voting Systems alleged it amounted to defamation in legal proceedings that ended in massive financial penalties for the conservative news behemoth.

Trump and Biden are heading towards a first debate (this time around, at least) this month, with the two major parties’ torch-bearers having agreed to a slate of face-to-face debates that will be held outside the auspices of the conventionally used Commission on Presidential Debates. Held in partnership with major news organizations, Trump and Biden will be the only candidates on the stage, though independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — among others — is also in the unfolding race. Other members of the Kennedy family notably threw public support behind Biden’s bid for another term.

Donalds has been characterized as a possibility for Trump’s vice presidential pick in this year’s general election. In the meantime, his public stumping for Trump has continued.
