Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is reporting that it raised $310 million across July — leaps and bounds ahead of the total being reported for Trump for the month of nearly $139 million. The Harris campaign was the Biden-Harris campaign until incumbent President Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he was stepping back from this year’s presidential race, but most of the fundraising came after the switch, including $200 million in just the first week.

These numbers apparently include fundraising at both the main campaign committees and associated political organizations.

Notably, Trump tried on Thursday to make a big deal out of his side’s fundraising numbers for July. “There has never been anything like the MAGA Movement. We raised $139 Million Dollars in July alone. We now have a whopping $327 Million Cash On Hand. Spectacular support from Great American Patriots who are donating to our Campaign for President of the United States, and helping out in many other ways,” he said on Truth Social, the Trump social media site that he utilizes like how he formerly used Twitter — which is now called X.

Harris, meanwhile, swiftly hit the campaign trail as she became Democrats’ new presidential torchbearer, and there is another slate of campaign trail appearances coming soon in conjunction with the expected public reveal of her decision for running mate. Discussed possibilities include a slew of Democratic governors, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, all of whom have been making themselves prominent — again — in discussions with media and on the campaign trail as the Harris campaign has taken off.

Buttigieg, for instance, recently seized on a Trump spokesperson expressing hesitation around a prospect of the ex-president debating Harris, claiming it showed Trump was intimidated. “[Trump] agreed to this specific debate, on this specific network, on this specific date,” Buttigieg observed in an interview, referring to a debate set up when Biden was still running. “And now, he’s pulling out. Of course, it shows that he’s afraid. It shows that he knows that if the two of them are on a stage together, it’s not going to end well for him.”
