Kamala Harris’ Running Mate Shreds Trump At Packed Rally: “He Mocks Our Laws”

At a campaign event in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz — who is now Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate for this year’s presidential election — went directly after Republican nominee Donald Trump.

“First of all, he doesn’t know the first thing about service,” Walz said, referring to Trump. “He doesn’t have time for it, ’cause he’s too busy serving himself. Again and again and again, Trump weakens our economy to strengthen his own hand. He mocks our laws. He sows chaos and division. And that’s to say nothing of his record as president. […] Violent crime was up under Donald Trump. That’s not even counting the crimes he committed!”

Meanwhile, Trump was occupying himself with posting online about an imagined scenario in which President Joe Biden tries to get the Democratic presidential nomination back from Harris after all, although Biden is the one who withdrew from this year’s election amid questions about his advanced age and endorsed Harris.

“What are the chances that Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST President in the history of the U.S., whose Presidency was Unconstitutionally STOLEN from him […] CRASHES the Democrat National Convention and tries to take back the Nomination, beginning with challenging me to another DEBATE. He feels that he made a historically tragic mistake by handing over the U.S. Presidency, a COUP, to the people in the World he most hates, and he wants it back, NOW!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social on Tuesday afternoon.

There’s no real-world indication that much of that is realistic or correct. Biden is, for one, still president. And he already expressed continued support for Harris even after his initial announcement he was withdrawing from the election. Trump, though, was already accused of being afraid in the face of Harris’ rapidly moving campaign — which will take her through a total of seven closely watched states to kick off the Harris-Walz Democratic ticket, starting with Pennsylvania’s Tuesday event.
