Americans Should See “Dangerous” Trump For Who He Truly Is, Harris’ Camp Argues

In an interview on Monday on CNN, Ian Sams — working as an advisor for the Democratic presidential campaign of current Vice President Kamala Harris — spoke about the dispute over the handling of microphones at the debate planned with ABC News for next month pitting Harris against Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The Harris campaign was pushing to have the microphones for both Trump and Harris left active for the duration of the debate instead of only turning them on when the candidate is up to speak or respond.

Harris “wants the American people to see an unfettered Donald Trump, because that’s what we’re going to get if he becomes president again, now that the Supreme Court has basically said he has unfettered power,” Sams said on the air.

“And so I think it’s important that in this election, in this moment, that the American people get to see the choice between the two candidates on stage, someone who’s dangerous, someone who’s wanting to take us back, someone who’s pledging a dark vision for the country that rips away our freedoms and the things that we care about, and a candidate who’s got an optimistic, patriotic, new way forward for this country that puts people’s money back in their pockets, helps them get affordable housing, the things that people actually care about.”

It doesn’t appear as though the uncertainty resulted in actually shutting down the debate plans, but Trump was recently casting doubts on his anticipated participation, complaining about the host, ABC.

“I watched ABC FAKE NEWS this morning, both lightweight reporter Jonathan Carl’s(K?) ridiculous and biased interview of Tom Cotton (who was fantastic!), and their so-called Panel of Trump Haters, and I ask, why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?” he posted to his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday.
