New polling of this year’s race for president by frequent partners YouGov and The Economist finds a very large lead among registered voters from the ages of 18 to 29 for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris as she faces Republicans’ pick, Donald Trump.
The margin is even somewhat larger than the lead nabbed by Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election in that same age group, according to exit polling done by Edison Research.
In the new polling, Harris was at 60 percent, with Trump nabbing just 31 percent. Harris also led among registered voters up to the age of 44, while Trump was ahead among the remaining voters beyond that when respondents were divided by age.
Among overall respondents, Harris was also ahead — slightly. She had 47 percent of the support to Trump’s 45 percent, with candidates from outside of the major parties included — a list that no longer includes independent contender Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., after his recent withdrawal from the race for the White House and endorsement of Trump. Kennedy’s decision drew public frustration and condemnation from his famously Democratic and politically involved family — who are backing Harris and her running mate Tim Walz en masse.
Meanwhile, Harris and Trump are meeting this very week — on Tuesday — for their first televised debate of this election cycle, which ABC News will host.
Trump, on Truth Social, was back to posting election-related conspiracy theories this week.
“An interview by Tucker Carlson of an election expert indicates that 20% of the Mail-In Ballots in Pennsylvania are fraudulent,” he claimed. “Here we go again! Where is the U.S. Attorney General and FBI to INVESTIGATE? Where is the Pennsylvania Republican Party? We will WIN Pennsylvania by a lot, unless the Dems are allowed to CHEAT. THE RNC MUST ACTIVATE, NOW!!!”
Flatly, there is no evidence that such a share of “Mail-In Ballots in Pennsylvania” is somehow fraudulent.
