Democratic presidential nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris “wrecked” Republican presidential pick Donald Trump at the debate between the two of them held on Tuesday night that was hosted by ABC News, said one observer. It was the major party candidates’ first debate of this election cycle, coming a little over a month after Harris took over for President Joe Biden, who stepped aside from the race for president.

“BREAKING — Trump announces he does NOT want to do any more debates with Kamala Harris, even if they’re on Fox News. Yup. Kamala wrecked him. It wasn’t even close. And now he’s scared of her,” wrote Tristan Snell, a lawyer who formerly worked in the New York state attorney general’s office.

Trump previously talked about doing multiple debates with Harris ahead of the rapidly approaching election, but now, his stance is as Snell describes.

“In the World of Boxing or UFC, when a Fighter gets beaten or knocked out, they get up and scream, “I DEMAND A REMATCH, I DEMAND A REMATCH!” Well, it’s no different with a Debate. She was beaten badly last night. Every Poll has us WINNING, in one case, 92-8, so why would I do a Rematch?” Trump posted on Wednesday afternoon.

He is referring to polling that asked who respondents thought won the debate — and the specific dataset majorly in his favor that he referenced came from Newsmax, a conservative outlet. In other words, it’s not as though it’s really some kind of trend in the more acutely relevant polling, which is actually the surveys done of the general election match-up of Trump against Harris. And Harris still leads plenty in that data.

“Demented senile old fool,” former prosecutor and current media figure Ron Filipkowski added online of the post from Trump that is cited above.
