Donald Trump is doing his best to goad House Speaker Nancy Pelosi into some kind of fight, but as usual, she’s not taking the bait. On Wednesday, Trump refused to discuss plans for infrastructure unless Democrats call off their investigations into Trump’s numerous alleged crimes. Pelosi called Trump out for his “poor baby” attitude and Trump has gone ballistic on Twitter ever since. On Thursday, she responded to his rants in a press conference and showed that she’s still not going to engage him on his childish level.
Democrats went to the White House with a clear goal: making progress on an infrastructure deal #ForThePeople. It would appear that @realDonaldTrump, on the other hand, was aiming to hold this widely-supported bipartisan effort hostage in an effort to double-down on his cover-up.

During that press conference, Pelosi called out Trump’s irrational temper tantrum and his refusal to do his job while under investigation. President Obama certainly did his despite the GOP’s endless investigations over any non-scandal they could invent with the help of Fox News as well as during Trump’s birtherism tour. During a critical and alarming portion of her speech, Pelosi called for an intervention.
‘I pray for the president of the United States. I wish that his family or his administration or staff would have an intervention for the good of the country.”

Trump repeatedly said that Democrats are discussing “the I word,” referring to his impeachment. While it’s true that some Democrats feel they’re ready to proceed with that move, the Speaker knows that it isn’t a possibility yet because the Senate Republicans are not yet on board. For that, more evidence needs to be gathered. Pelosi also said that Trump is “crying out for impeachment,” and that Democrats are not to that point yet, and any insistence by the president that they are “simply isn’t the truth.”
‘Impeachment is a very divisive place to go in our country…Get the facts to the American people in our investigation. it may take us to a place that is unavoidable in terms of impeachment, but we’re not at that place.’
Nancy Pelosi is the third highest ranking official in the United States government, and she is calling for an intervention to be held for the President Of The United States. This isn’t empty rhetoric. https://t.co/6jWDtwhd1Y

Most importantly, Pelosi pointed out that Trump’s continued obstruction of justice and attempts to hide information from Congress, who has a constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the president, might just be his undoing after all.
‘Let me be very clear: the president’s behavior, as far as his obstruction of justice, the things that he is doing, it’s in plain sight, it cannot be denied — ignoring subpoenas, obstruction of justice.’
