Apropos of absolutely nothing other than an announcement that the government is pressing drug companies to lower the price of insulin for those with diabetes, both type 1 and type 2, Trump asked the group of reporters if he should start taking insulin.

Insulin is a life-saving drug for those with diabetes and is prescribed by medical physicians to control glucose levels in their patients. It is not a drug to be taken casually, as it can dangerously reduce blood sugar levels when taken by someone without diabetes. Trump, who insists he is the healthiest president ever to sit in the White House, has never announced having been diagnosed with diabetes or insulin-resistance of any kind.

The question follows an announcement by Trump that he is taking hydroxychloroquine, which the World Health Organization (WHO) recently stopped testing in clinical trials due to the dangerous side effects of the drug, including arrhythmia and death.
‘The decision was made after an observational study published Friday in the medical journal The Lancet described how seriously ill Covid-19 patients who were treated with hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine were more likely to die.’
