On Tuesday night, Donald Trump sat at a town hall debate lying to the American public about COVID-19 and his response to the pandemic. He insisted that people – he named waiters, specifically – think that wearing a mask is a bad thing, that the virus would go away eventually because of “herd mentality,” and that he never downplayed the virus.

Former Vice President Mike Pence aide Olivia Troye, who served as the lead staffer on the White House coronavirus pandemic response, says she will be voting for Joe Biden in 2020, and she’s speaking out publicly to say that she was motivated to do so because of Trump’s failed COVID-19 response and his utter disregard for human life.
According to Axios, Troye said that:
‘It was shocking to see the president saying that the virus was a hoax, saying that everything’s okay when we know that it not. The truth is that he doesn’t actually care about anyone else but himself.’
We've had to endure President Trump's incompetence and dishonesty when it comes to testing, wearing masks, and socially distancing.
We can't afford a repeat of those fiascos with a COVID-19 vaccine.
The stakes are too high.

Troye’s statements to the press have revealed some dirt on Trump’s interactions with the task force, saying that Trump made obnoxious and inflammatory statements about the virus. Troye indicates that the president was unable to make the virus about anything but himself, as he showed the task force one day when he said that the virus might be “a good thing.”
‘Troye claims that Trump said in a White House task force meeting that “maybe this COVID thing is a good thing. I don’t like shaking hands with people. I don’t have to shake hands with these disgusting people.”‘

Troye says Trump is responsible for the nearly 200,000 American lives lost, and because of that, he shouldn’t be president again in 2021. After all, the virus is still killing around 1,000 Americans every day, and Trump is still refusing to respect what experts have said about the proper measures to prevent its spread.
‘If the president had taken this virus seriously, or if he had actually made the effort to tell how serious it was, he would have slowed the virus spread, he would have saved lives.’
