Twitter appears to have at least temporarily suspended likes and retweets on at least one of President Donald Trump’s Twitter posts on Saturday morning. They’ve taken similar action in the past in an attempt to cut down on the reach that some of Trump’s election lies have gotten. The latest action from the platform came amidst a flurry of additional angry election-related lies from the president, who was melting down after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a case in which Texas and its allies, including Trump’s own team, were seeking the invalidation of the presidential election outcome in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

He's on top-secret double-probation now from Twitter. No likes or RTs on his disinformation. I like it. But it's SO obvious that they should remove him from the service asap. He's got no public interest in being here. pic.twitter.com/28OyXmm8fw

In the post that Twitter took action against, Trump characterized the Supreme Court rejection as “a great and disgraceful miscarriage of justice,” claiming that “The people of the United States were cheated, and our Country disgraced.” His side was “Never even given our day in Court!” he angrily added, although that’s simply not correct. The Supreme Court itself did consider the arguments that Texas and its allies presented, and most of the Justices, including Trump’s own three nominees, concluded that Texas’s side didn’t even have the legal standing to bring the case. Elsewhere in the country, conservative and liberal judges alike have heard out the Trump team’s claims about supposed widespread election fraud — and they’ve rejected these claims, over and over.
In a particularly unhinged Saturday morning Twitter post after the Supreme Court rejection, Trump insisted as follows:
‘I WON THE ELECTION IN A LANDSLIDE, but remember, I only think in terms of legal votes, not all of the fake voters and fraud that miraculously floated in from everywhere! What a disgrace!’

Trump is unequivocally entirely incorrect. The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that there’s no legitimate evidence that voting systems were compromised — would he suggest that DHS is in on the imaginary fraud as well? They’re not, obviously; rather, Trump is thoroughly disconnected from the truth and reality of the situation.
