Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) is facing Democratic challenger Adam Frisch again after the former member of city council in Aspen, Colorado, finished less than 600 votes behind her in 2020, and Frisch’s campaign has now revealed a massive fundraising haul for the first quarter of this year. The total reached $1.7 million, representing donations from each of the counties included in the contested district — and, across the country, all 50 states.
“I am incredibly humbled by the generosity of the tens of thousands of individuals who contributed to our campaign to bring decency and common sense back to Colorado’s 3rd district,” Frisch said, according to The Denver Post. “These remarkable fundraising numbers reflect what we’re hearing on the campaign trail – that voters from across the political spectrum are sick and tired of Boebert’s angertainment circus and are ready for a representative who will work across the aisle to find solutions to the problems facing their families, their businesses, and their communities.” Frisch has been very direct in targeting Boebert, who has distinguished herself while in office with her participation in far-right causes and general ignorance.
During a recent hearing in Congress, she questioned a member of the D.C. city council about changes to local rules for criminal justice that hadn’t actually been implemented and asked about a policy change for handling public urination in the city that the council itself also didn’t end up supporting. At an earlier hearing, she insinuated to the individual leading the White House’s Office of Management and Budget that federal employees were at least potentially taking secret vacation days under the guise of allowances for remote work, but there are still requirements for staff to document what they’ve done, meaning it would be difficult for some kind of conspiracy not to work to emerge.
