In a broadcast discussion apparently from Sunday, Rudy Giuliani — former mayor of New York City-turned-staunch ally to former President Donald Trump — complained about the manner in which he was recently served with legal documentation following an indictment in Arizona that also targeted a slew of other Trump associates.

Reports revealed earlier that the delayed confrontation finally took place during a birthday celebration for Giuliani in Florida. He was the final defendant to be served in the case, which hinges on the assembling in Arizona of a slate of sham electors backing Trump despite Joe Biden’s victory there in the 2020 presidential race. The effort mirrored undertakings elsewhere, and concurrently, there are now at least four criminal cases directly related to it all, plus Trump’s own federal criminal case alleging attempted election interference after 2020.

“He walked in between a couple of people who didn’t know who he was,” Giuliani said, referring to one of the individuals who served him. “And he handed me a folded up, crumpling piece of paper. […] It was a crumpling piece of paper. It wasn’t like done, stylishly.”

The discussion was highlighted earlier by the outlet Raw Story.

It’s Giuliani’s second indictment and third serious case related to post-2020 election actions, the others including a still active Georgia criminal case and a disciplinary case related to his past actions as a lawyer that produced his suspension from the practice of law in New York and Washington, D.C. Another defendant from the new Arizona case faced similar consequences: legal figure John Eastman was suspended in California and the nation’s capital and, like Giuliani, was also charged in Georgia’s case. Most of these people remain aligned with Trump, and, at times, even 2020 election conspiracy theories, even as some face serious consequences stemming from such involvement.
