Outrage is continuing to mount over the involvement of Ginni Thomas — U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s wife — in pushes to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential election victory. On MSNBC, Joyce Vance — who served as a U.S. Attorney for most of former President Barack Obama’s time in office — pushed the prospect of Ginni getting interviewed by the House committee investigating the Capitol riot and the Justice Department.
Ginni is already known to have been in repeated contact with then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, who she urged to fight the presidential election outcome. “Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!!… The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History,” Ginni once told Meadows. She’s since been revealed to have also sent emails to Arizona state legislators to push for officials in that state to basically undo Biden’s win there, although those messages were part of a (virtual) letter-writing campaign — but one legislator personally responded. Vance commented as follows:
‘It should put Ginni Thomas in that interview seat, probably from the committee, certainly from the Justice Department. We live in this real world where there is sensitivity surrounding Supreme Court Justices and their families. And I think it will be difficult, quite frankly, for people to navigate these issues, where in fact it should be simple. Because if Ginni Thomas was anyone else with the sort of knowledge she’s displayed on multiple issues, investigators would sit down and have a chat with her, not necessarily that she’s a target for investigation — but they would want to know what she knows.’

The riot committee was previously reported as interested in hearing from Ginni, but there haven’t been major updates on that front, and she doesn’t appear to have spoken to committee members — who have, however, heard from other close Trump allies like Rudy Giuliani. As for a potential Justice Department investigation, federal prosecutors were revealed to be looking at the issue of faked electoral votes for Trump in states Biden won in tandem with state officials raising concerns about those schemes, but there haven’t been major public developments on that front, either. Check out Vance’s comments below — she noted how Ginni’s apparent advocacy for the possibility of assembling faked electoral votes mirrored the push for those steps by others around Trump, making for a troubling correlation:
Ginni has been involved with the board of CNP Action, a right-wing organization that pushed the kind of messaging campaigns in which Ginni personally got involved targeting state legislators in Arizona. “Please consider what will happen to the nation we all love if you do not stand up and lead,” one message she sent said. The anti-democratic steps Trump supporters were pushing for at the time make the implications obvious. (Prominent Trumpers wanted certain state legislators to basically overturn their states’ election results, which is what tapping pro-Trump electors in states Biden won would entail.) Ginni has also been alleged by Dustin Stockton — an organizer who was involved with the large outdoor rally in D.C. that preceded the Capitol attack — to have helped ease tensions among those involved in the event, although she’s claimed to have actually not been involved in organizing that day’s rally.
