Biden Campaign Torpedoes Team Trump’s Complaints: ‘Trump Is, In Fact, A Convicted Felon’

The Biden re-election campaign doesn’t seem concerned about complaints recently expressed by Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt about them referring to former President Donald Trump as a convicted felon.

Trump gained that status with a recent jury conviction on all counts in a New York City courtroom at a trial on felony charges of falsifying business records in connection to hush money from before the 2016 election.

He was accused of using the successfully alleged records offenses to conceal additional criminal activity, and in the process of defining that other level to their case, local prosecutors alleged a covert ambition to impact the 2016 election in a manner favorable to Trump. The funds kept under wraps a story from a woman named Stormy Daniels of having a sexual encounter with the former president years before his 2016 bid.

“Trump press secretary says it’s “shameful” for the Biden campaign to call Trump a convicted felon,” the Biden campaign captioned a clip of Leavitt that they shared on social media on Monday. “(Trump is, in fact, a convicted felon).”

Trump is now heading towards a sentencing scheduled for next month, where it’s simply unclear at present how the process will play out, particularly whether Trump might face jail-time. In an interview on MSNBC, former FBI Director James Comey, who Trump himself fired from that federal role, argued it was perfectly feasible, logistically speaking, for the ex-president to be jailed. Trump already faced the possibility once in this very context with threats from the judge of potential jail-time if he violated a gag order again.
