During the proceedings against President Richard Nixon during Watergate that would have inevitably ended in his impeachment had he not resigned to avoid that, it was what the public learned of Nixon’s crimes that swung the pendulum and lost him his Republican support. Now that the country is once again embroiled in a constitutional crisis, Trump will do anything he can to avoid that, even if it means keeping vital information away from the public to cover up his crimes.
Per @JeffreyToobin, Giuliani says that Trump will likely attempt to block a Rosenstein from releasing parts of Mueller’s report based on executive privilege. https://t.co/tzxaHaN8YR pic.twitter.com/WzCbA7uVxV

Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York who has reinvented himself as the most embarrassing and contradictory spokesperson to ever speak for the White House, answered questions on what the public can expect from Mueller’s eventual reports once his investigation has concluded.
Here's my 8000-word @NewYorker profile of @RudyGiuliani . Note the claim that @realDonaldTrump may try to block public release of Mueller's report. https://t.co/Ll44F99JHA

In an article from The New Yorker, who spoke to Giuliani, it is reported that:
‘Mueller will file a concluding report with Rod Rosenstein, the Deputy Attorney General, at the end of the investigation, and, in theory, Rosenstein has the option of releasing the report to Congress and to the public. But Giuliani pointed out a little-known aspect of the agreement that Trump’s original legal team struck with Mueller: the White House reserved the right to object to the public disclosure of information that might be covered by executive privilege. I asked Giuliani if he thought the White House would raise objections. “I’m sure we will,” he said, adding that the President would make the final call. In other words, the conclusion of the special counsel’s investigation could be the beginning of a contentious fight over whether Rosenstein is allowed to release a complete version of Mueller’s report.’

If that isn’t disturbing and infuriating enough, Giuliani also says that a counter-report is already being drafted to discredit any findings Mueller may conclude. If it seems impossible to you to refute allegations that are not yet even known, you’re not alone.
‘Giuliani’s team is also preëmptively preparing a report to be released at the same time as Mueller’s, to refute its expected findings. Giuliani said that this “counter-report” is already forty-five pages and will likely grow, adding, “It needs a five-page summary—for me.”’

For anyone waiting to hear the final reports and evidence, the satisfaction of knowing the truth may never come. After all, Trump’s presidency is in itself a post-truth era of lies and twisted facts.
