Donald Trump’s day just got increasingly worse. He found out that his top adversary, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, included a zinger in the list of questions that he gave to the president, and Trump insisted that he completed all by himself. Now, the president’s TV attorney, former New York mayor, Rudy Giuliani, is in a major upset.
It seems, the special counsel in the investigation to Russia’s attack on the 2016 presidential election, possible conspiracy between Trump and Moscow, and the president’s obstruction of justice asked him a question about the then-candidate’s Russia business deal.
In a surprise early morning hearing in a U.S. federal court in Manhattan, New York, the president’s former fixer and personal attorney crashed Trump’s lies wide open. Giuliani blew a gasket, according to The Daily News:
‘He’s (Cohen) a liar. That son of a b—h should have been disbarred months ago. He’s a disgrace to the profession. He’s a really bad guy. He’s a god damn liar.’
When reporters asked Giuliani why the president repeatedly denied any business dealings with Russia, the attorney said:
‘There was a proposal, but it never went beyond that. There was no equity, no money put up, no deal was made. Just because you are having a business proposal with Russia, it doesn’t mean you’re colluding with Russia.’
In his testimony, Cohen said that he had not been instructed by anyone to lie:
‘I made these statements to be consistent with individual one’s political messaging and to be loyal to individual one (referring to Trump).’
The president was on his way to Argentina for the annual G-20 Summit, when he stopped to talk with reporters. He was furious with Cohen, calling him a “weak person:”
‘What he’s trying to do is get a reduced sentence.’
Trump said numerous times that he had no business dealings with Russians. Then, POTUS did a reversal regarding whether he could, as a presidential candidate, put his brand on a Russian real estate project:
”…there would have been nothing wrong if I did.’
One of Cohen’s close friends told the Daily News that the self-defined fixer said Trump’s project included Emin and Aras Agalarov. These men are a Russian billionaire and his son, who is a Russian singer. These two men also set up the infamous Trump Tower meeting with Donald Trump, Jr. in June 2016. They promised the president’s eldest son dirt on his father’s opponent, Hillary Clinton.
The oligarch could not have entered into a business deal with the then-candidate without the approval of Russia’s president Vladimir Putin. The head of Russia allows the oligarchs to keep their fortunes as long as they remain loyal to him and send him his slice of the operation’s profits.
The source said it was not Trump who ended the project, but the builders:
‘They’re one of the largest builders in Moscow and if anyone could put up a giant building it was them. It fell apart simply because Russia’s economy was going into the gutter. Between the sanctions and everything else, they had no money and that’s why it fell apart.’
