Donald Trump has had a rough couple of weeks. Not only are his friends and associates being exposed as criminals, but his own crimes are also quickly coming to light. Violations of the emoluments clause, alleged collusion with the Kremlin to win the presidential election, and the many attempts to break the law that Trump has had to have real adults stop him from trying have flooded the news in recent days.

On Friday, Trump gave a speech about ending crime to make the country safer. He didn’t mention all of the criminals he’s had in the White House. He didn’t mention the crimes the Kremlin perpetrated against the U.S. election system, nor the murder of a Washington Post journalist and American resident that he’s conveniently ignored. He certainly didn’t mention the crimes his own son has allegedly committed that he fully expects to be indicted for.
How does anyone take Trump’s thoughts on ending crime seriously at this point?
His speech involved the Project Safe Neighborhoods Project where police officers and community leaders work together to make neighborhoods safer for their communities. According to Trump, they should commit more brutality, arrest undocumented immigrants, and investigate Hillary Clinton and James Comey at his command. These are all issues of ending crime that Trump has supported in the past.
Perhaps the police officers would do better to arrest Trump, his children, and about half of his administration. That would certainly lessen the amount of crime happening in our country today.
