Donald Trump plucked three of his Mar-a-Lago buddies to serve at the top of the VA in a shadow government capacity. The woman who serves as the arms negotiator with Russia in the State Department was married with Russian spy Maria Butina’s partner officiating. POTUS campaign manager and personal attorney are in prison. Clearly, Trump attracts a Motley Crew into his inner circle, and now this.
The man in the Oval Office appointed Katharine Gorka to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Now, POTUS has appointed her to be the new Customs and Border Protection (CBP) press secretary. Already, she has created a controversy after expressing her extreme opinions on terrorism as the DHS has worked to “combat violent extremism in the US.”
One of Trump’s many acting appointees, CBP Commissioner John Sanders said he anticipated that Gorka would accept the appointment to his agency. The southern border personal crisis was created by the president’s extreme and cruel policies that virtually jailed refugees seeking asylum. Some of them have been forced to sleep outside. One outside group of refugee men were not allowed to bathe or change clothes for over a month.
The commander-in-chief has also planned to place 1300 refugee children into detention camps. One of those locations held Japanese Americans during World War II.
Katherine and Sebastian Gorka both wrote for The Breitbart News. Former Trump campaign manager Steve Bannon was an executive at the publication prior to joining the White House and after. He was later fired by the Mercer family as Donald Trump lost favor with them.
In a 2014 Breitbart story, Katharine Gorka using the pseudonym of Katie Gorka wrote that:
‘Presidents Bush and Obama both publicly declared Islam to be a religion of peace, which has struck a sour chord for many. To date, American and Western leaders have preemptively shut down any debate within Islam by declaring that Islam is the religion of peace and that terrorism has nothing to do with Islam.’
Gorka was recommended by a number of people both within the White House and in the department for the DHS job. In a separate story in 2014, she wrote President Barack Obama’s White House:
‘…narrowly defined the enemy as only the most violent jihadists: first Al Qaeda and now ISIS. This inaccurate assessment of the enemy has its roots in left-wing theories about social movements.’
A senior official recommended her saying:
‘She was very good at her job and is very intelligent.’
The Huffington Post wrote that a DHS official said Gorka:
‘…has a productive relationship with (Life After Hate) and has recently met and participated in events with its new leadership.’
Legal watchdog Democracy Forward spokesperson Charisma Troiano said:
‘The public deserves to know what Katharine Gorka is doing at DHS, but the Trump administration isn’t saying. We’re suing to find out whether her extreme and biased views are driving Homeland Security resources away from real threats.’
Asked for a comment, Gorka told CNN:
‘I am honored for this opportunity to serve at CBP.’
CBP guards the U.S. borders and works on legal international trade and tourism.
