House Judiciary Chair Pushing Resolution Against Trump Speech

Donald Trump has taken House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s caution over impeaching him to heart, and he is like a teenager whose parents are away for the weekend. POTUS demands that no current or former member of the administration give even one document or any testimony to the House. The president has blown through all of the laws, traditions, and standards other presidents have followed and left a stunned House in his wake. Fortunately, the Democrats have begun to wake up. This is what they are doing.

House Chair of the Judiciary Committee Jerry Nadler (D-NY) told George Stephanopoulos about a possible resolution against Trump:

‘”I don’t know. It wouldn’t be a bad idea,” Rep. Jerry Nadler tells @GStephanopoulos when asked if the House will pass another resolution condemning Trump following the president’s attacks on Rep. Elijah Cummings’

Trump attacked Oversight Committee Chair Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and condemned Baltimore in a tweet. Nadler said he was uncertain whether the House was going to introduce a resolution that would condemn Trump’s attacks. Nadler did say that it “wouldn’t be a bad idea:”

‘I don’t know, it wouldn’t be a bad idea.’

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked Nadler whether a resolution was in the works, one like that which passed the House after Trump called on four progressive minority congresswomen to “go back” to the countries of their origin. All of the women were American citizens, and three were born here. Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) came with her parents as a young refugee.

Nadler told Stephanopoulos:

‘The president is as he usually is or often is, disgusting and racist. He makes these charges with no base at all.’

The Democrat commented on the tweets where the president called Cummings’ West Baltimore district:

‘…rat and rodent-infested’ and’ implied money intended for the district was being stolen.’

The House Judiciary Committee chair said that the president’s tweets:

‘…are designed to distract attention from allegations about his conduct that came from the committee in the Mueller hearings this week. He’s just trying to change the subject, which is what he usually does.’

Twitter world went wild. Check out some of our favorites below:
