Over the weekend, Trump spent much of his time blasting Democratic House Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) for speaking the truth about the horrific conditions for asylum seekers being held at our Southern border. Trying to deflect from his own mess down South, Trump had the audacity to call Cummings’ district in Baltimore a “filthy” and “rodent-infested” mess, suggesting that Cummings clean that up before criticizing the detention centers.
This comes on the heels of Trump’s racist attacks on four highly respected Congresswomen two weeks ago, when he suggested that they “go back to their home countries.”
Trump seems to get more and more brazen as the days pass — it’s like he has gotten so used to getting away with being a total a-hole, that he has stopped caring altogether about how he looks to the country and the world. I know… you’re thinking, “when did he ever care?” You have a good point, but lately, it’s even worse — so much so, that in the past two weeks, impeachment talks have become louder and louder.
According to a new report:
‘A wave of lawmakers from the state of Washington on Sunday called for an impeachment inquiry against President Trump, making it so that nearly half of the House Democratic Caucus now supports the move.
‘The call from the five Washington state Democrats — Reps. Derek Kilmer, Kim Schrier, Suzan DelBene and Denny Heck as well as Sen. Patty Murray— came four days after former special counsel Robert Mueller testified to Congress.’
In addition, House Judiciary Committee Leader, Jerry Nadler, said in an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN that Trump “richly deserves impeachment.”
‘My personal view is that [Trump] richly deserves impeachment. He has done many impeachable offenses. He’s violated the laws six ways from Sunday.”
House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, also seems to be coming around from her former “no impeachment” way of thinking. She stated over the weekend:
‘Their advocacy for impeachment only gives me leverage. I have no complaint with what they are doing.’
So, let’s keep it up, lawmakers! Trump’s days are numbered.
