Donald Trump used to consider Fox News his source for all things great and small. However, even Fox has not been able to overlook many of the president’s foul-ups. Trump occasionally goes to the Russian-run network One America News for his advice, especially when he hears about Fox’s anti-Trump polls.

CNN’s Jeremy Diamond was covering the White House press pool today. When POTUS returned from his ill-fated trip to New York City, he took some questions from the reporters.

Diamond referred to “several recent polls” including Fox’s latest poll that indicated Trump should be impeached and kicked out of office. The president replied:

‘You’re looking at the wrong polls.’

The CNN reporter started to refer to other polls such as The Wall Street Journal’s and polls from different outlets. Trump interrupted Diamond claiming he had “the real polls,” “CNN polls are fake,” and Fox polls were always “lousy:”

‘I have the real polls. The CNN polls are fake. The Fox polls have always been lousy. I tell ’em they ought to get themselves a new pollster. But the real polls, if you look at the polls that came out this morning, people don’t want anything to do with impeachment. It’s a phony scam. It’s a hoax.’

President number 45 has generally disagreed with Fox News’ polls, because they ran against him. For example, they found 51 percent of American voters “support impeachment.”

Then in the latest Fox poll, those numbers remained virtually static. They showed 49 percent of the American voters thought Trump should be “impeached and removed.” In addition, there was little movement among voters who believed the president should be impeached at a minimum and those who thought he should not be “impeached at all.”

In a vote last week, the House of Representatives voted basically along party lines to go forward with an impeachment inquiry. All Republicans voted against the impeachment inquiry, and only two Democrats sided with the Republicans. With the Democrats holding a strong majority in the House, the inquiry passed easily.

This vote involved Trump’s interactions with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The U.S. president froze $391 million in military aid to this country, which has been at war with Russia, in return for dirt on his top 2020 presidential election. President Vladimir Putin attacked Ukraine and took Croatia for itself. Then, Putin continued the war along the eastern border between Russia and Ukraine.

The House voted largely along partisan lines Thursday to go forward with an impeachment inquiry into Trump’s dealings with Ukraine. All but two Democrats supported it, while all Republicans opposed it. The poll was conducted prior to the House vote (October 27-30).

The Fox News Poll was conducted from October 27 through 30, 2019 along with Beacon Research and Show & Company. They interviewed 1,040 random registered voters across the nation in live interviews, which were conducted on landlines and cellphones. The margin of error was 3 +/- percentage points.
