The full House is set to vote on and presumably approve articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Wednesday, and he’s freaking out. He’s now sent a rambling, six-page letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that he honestly may very well have written entirely himself continuing how unhinged it is. He even includes mockery of Pelosi’s previous statement that she prays for the president, insisting that it can’t possibly be true. That outlandishly petty assertion is the partisan-led, egomaniacal squabbling to which Trump has dragged the office of the presidency.
He also included yet another round of his infamous assertion that the investigations into his behavior constitute one of the worst things that’s happened in all of American political history. Remember — literal slavery has happened in the United States. A literal Civil War was fought over it. And Trump thinks he has it worse because he did crimes and got caught.
He ranted and raved:
‘This impeachment represents an unprecedented and unconstitutional abuse of power by Democrat Lawmakers, unequaled in nearly two and a half centuries of American legislative history… You have cheapened the importance of the very ugly word, impeachment! By proceeding with your invalid impeachment, you are violating your oaths of office, you are breaking your allegiance to the Constitution, and you are declaring open war on American Democracy. You dare to invoke the Founding Fathers in pursuit of this election-nullification scheme — yet your spiteful actions display unfettered contempt for America’s founding and your egregious conduct threatens to destroy that which our Founders pledged their very lives to build.’
To be clear, what happened is that Trump was caught trying to get Ukraine to investigate the Bidens while also holding up their military aid, and he proceeded to flip out when faced with the slightest attempt at questioning by House Democrats. Yet, ask Trump, and you’d hear that Democrats are hyperpartisan conspirators scheming to take out the president of the United States.
It goes on and on and on. After noting the electoral college totals that he has already referenced a nauseating amount of times since the 2016 presidential race concluded, Trump rambled:
‘You have developed a full-fledged case of what many in the media call Trump Derangement Syndrome, and sadly, you will never get over it!.. There is nothing I would rather do than stop referring to your party as the Do-Nothing Democrats. Unfortunately, I don’t know that you will ever give me a chance to do so… More due process was afforded to those accused in the Salem Witch Trials.’
In the Salem Witch Trials, young women were hung on charges of witchcraft. And Trump thinks he has it worse than them.

He made a number of brazenly false claims. He said that Democrats want to eliminate the Second Amendment — but that’s not true. He said that no investigation into him has found anything — but half a dozen of his associates have faced criminal charges stemming from the Russia investigation alone.
At present, Ukraine-related investigations are getting underway, and federal prosecutors have subpoenaed records of personal Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani’s overseas consulting work.
