Donald Trump could have stopped. the coronavirus pandemic. Over 8.4 million and counting people have contracted the COVID-19 virus. Now, 220,784 Americans filled with life now lie in their cold, dark graves. Yet, this president blithely grabs for his reelection brass ring without a care about the crisis people are enduring. Fortunately, The Lincoln Project has an answer.
This group of brilliant Republicans and former Republicans have sacrificed their careers in order to take down the president of these United States. They have created another video ad going after Trump.
Two weeks before the 2020 election, Republican legislators have tried to distance themselves from POTUS, because his words burn into toxic fumes. They were a little late and, clearly, they have no respect for the voters. Their mistake was in assuming voters were apathetic and/or not very smart.
The new Lincoln Project ad was entitled Commander in Chief as is the song that runs through it and behind a powerful set of visuals. The anti-Trump protest song was performed and written by Demi Lovato with the assist of others. It was first performed at the Billboard Music Awards.
Lovato sang with the vital message VOTE. Her lyrics are plainly intended for Trump:
‘If I did the things you do / I couldn’t sleep, seriously / Do you even know the truth? / We’re in a state of crisis, people are dyin’ / While you line your pockets deep / Commander in Chief, how does it feel to still / Be able to breathe?’
This singer song writer was perfectly willing to sacrifice her career to protect America:
‘I literally don’t care if this ruins my career. This isn’t about that. My career isn’t about that. I made a piece of art that stands for something I believe in. And I’m putting it out even at the risk of losing fans. I’ll take integrity in my work over sales any day.’
Take a look at how The Lincoln Project built upon Lovato’s protest song:
