What is the big lie? We hear this term echoing around the hallowed halls of our Capitol Building this Wednesday after Donald Trump’s failed coup. Democrats have stood on the House floor arguing for POTUS to be excised from the White House where he apparently put down roots.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) words went straight to the heart of his big lie and then to the entire nation. She said that the Republican legislators knew that Donald Trump incited the ugly, enraged mob. Then, he sent them to the place where the lawmakers were counting the Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden’s presidency. In a final step, they would certify them, fully installing him as the next president.The most dangerous man in the world sent his attackers to terrify both representatives and senators, Republicans and Democrats. POTUS even wanted to hang his Vice President Mike Pence, his most loyal acolyte.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said lawmakers knew President Donald Trump incited the violent mob that stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 while votes were being counted in the election that he lost – and that he must go, The USA Today newspaper reported:

‘We know that we experienced the insurrection that violated the sanctity of the people’s Capitol and attempted to overturn the duly recorded will of the American people.’

Trump lied every day, often many times. Yet, his lie that the election was stolen from him was the great big lie. It had a heads-I-win, tails-you-lose quality to it:

 ‘The president much be impeached and, I believe, the president must be convicted by the Senate, a constitutional remedy that will ensure that the republic will be safe from this man who is so resolutely determined to tear down the things that we hold so dear.;

Then, she said:

‘Those insurrectionists were not patriots. They were not part of a political base to be catered to and managed. They were domestic terrorists. And justice must prevail.’

Pelosi rarely speaks for any length of time on the floor. Yet, Wednesday she stood quoting the 16th President Abraham Lincoln (R-IL) and President John F. Kennedy. She quoted from Saint Paul in the Bible to make her case against the greatest American threat that is Donald Trump.

Pelosi built her case, noting that Trump lied repeatedly about the outcome of the election and sought to influence state officials “to repeal reality.”

‘Then came that day of fire we all experienced.’

Reporter Aaron Rupar tweeted:

‘Pelosi: “The President of the United States incited this insurrection, this armed rebellion, against our common country. He must go. He is a clear and present danger to the nation that we all love.”‘

Chair of the House Intelligence Committee Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) led the first Trump impeachment.  He explained what that mob meant:

Twitter world blew like an oil well. Take a look at what the Democrats’ House Speaker had to say below:
