The Washington D.C. attorney general has offered Donald Trump Jr. an invitation he cannot refuse. What the president’s eldest son has apparently not yet learned, is that his father would throw him under the bus to save himself in a hot New York minute. Middle brother Eric Trump and sister Ivanka received their invitations before Christmas, according to The New York Times.
Eric tried to move his invitation, make that his deposition, with the New York Attorney General’s office until after the 2020 election day but to no avail, the New York Times reported. He was interviewed in relation to a civil investigation of a New York fraud inquiry. The AG’s office was looking into whether the Trump Organization, managed by the two older sons, committed real estate fraud.
Ivanka sat for her Washington DC attorney general’s deposition in early December. It investigating Donald Trump’s possible misuse of inaugural funds, CNN reported. The AG’s office alleged the president’s inaugural committee funneled money back into the president’s business.
D.C. attorney general Karl Racine filed a lawsuit in 2020 regarding the Trump Inaugural Committee, which is a tax-exempt nonprofit. The Washington Post wrote that the AG alleges:
‘[It] wasted $1 million of donors’ money on an overpriced, little used ballroom at the president’s D.C. hotel, and then paid a $49,000 hotel bill that should have gone to the Trump Organization.’
Racine said that the Trump Organization and the inaugural committee violations were breaking nonprofit charities’ usage laws. Racine wants the money refunded, then it will be donated to real charities.
