Donald Trump ripped babies from the arms of nursing mothers and caged them. While that was probably the most heinous act of the previous administration, the former president has an impeachment trial to face. The Republican Party has to face the American public. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell thought he could ride the tiger called Trumpism, he was wrong. And now it could be too late, far too late, as The Lincoln Project tells us.
The party left behind in Trump’s wake was easily revved up into insurrection on January 6. White Nationalists of all flavors came together that day and tried to overthrow the American democracy to hunt down the government. They supported all that is unAmerican: Fascism versus freedom, rage against the government vs. patriotism, emotion vs. logic, Representative Marjorie Tyler Greene (R-GA) vs. Conservative Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY).

The Lincoln Project nailed it with the latest video. Trump spilled blood on the peaceful transfer of an election. And what did the Republican Party do? They hid. They hid, because they knew the violent mob was out for their blood, too. They are still hiding.
