The crowd drawn to attack the Capitol Building and the Capitol Police on Jan. 6, 2021, were some of the most crazed, rabid, and brainwashed people in the country. As it turns out, some of them were even more dangerous than originally known, as well.

Matthew Jason Beddingfield, a 21-year-old from North Carolina, was arrested on Tuesday after it was discovered by police, tipped off by the online publication The Huffington Police, that he had been to the Capitol Building and was involved in attacking police officers there. His case will be complicated by the fact that Beddinfield was already out on bail for an alleged attempted murder for which he had been charged.
According to NBC News:
‘When he stormed the Capitol, Beddingfield was on bail on a first-degree attempted murder charge in connection with the December 2019 shooting of a 17-year-old in a Walmart parking lot, when Beddingfield was 19. He was initially held on $1 million bail, but he secured pretrial release when bail was lowered to $100,000. After he stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, Beddingfield pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in connection with the shooting. He was on probation in the shooting case when he was arrested Tuesday.’
NBC News is also reporting that Beddingfield faces charges of assaulting officers, impeding officers during a civil disorder and carrying a deadly or dangerous weapon on restricted Capitol grounds, each of which is a felony, along with a host of misdemeanors. He went to Washington, D.C. last year accompanied by his father, who also participated in storming the Capitol, although he has not been arrested or charged with any crimes at this point.
