Former First Lady Melania Trump is maintaining the same self-obsessive streak as her husband, apparently. As questions publicly swirled about the legitimacy of a charity effort in her name that’s been pushed, she spoke out this Friday… and characterized those who would dare to question the circumstances surrounding this endeavor as “quite literally dream killers.” Legally speaking, it’s not as though the Trumps are known for being consistently above-board, and examining whether a charitable initiative that could potentially have huge sums of money on its hands and involves a former First Lady is legitimate isn’t exactly extreme.
Things are not going great for Donald Trump on the legal front

As Melania angrily put it, discussing a specific instance where a computer science school (which she didn’t identify) suddenly backed out of the process to receive scholarship money because of supposedly political reasons:
‘Supporting children is not, and should never be, part of a political agenda. Imagine the opportunities we could create if we all worked together to support our children and committed to helping them fulfill their hopes and dreams. Despite my actions, the press continues to publish inaccurate, misleading, and outright incorrect articles about my work. The media has created a narrative whereby I am trying to act in an illegal or unethical manner. That portrayal is simply untrue and adversely affects the children I hope to support. Those who attack my initiatives and create the appearance of impropriety are quite literally dream killers. They have canceled the hopes and dreams of children by trying to cancel me.’

“Imagine the opportunities we could create”… how about imagining the opportunities that Americans could benefit from if Donald and Melania stopped doing whatever exactly it is they’re doing in the public eye? Specifically, there’s a Florida event scheduled for April with ticket packages running as high as $50,000 and claims that some of the money will be going towards a “Be Best”-tied initiative to support foster children’s educations known as Fostering the Future — and observers discovered that no entity under either name was registered in the state of Florida, as required by law. The Division of Consumer Services in the Florida state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services opened an inquiry into the matter. Now, Melania says that she isn’t operating or apparently even trying to operate an actual organization. Instead, as she laid it out, those monikers — “Be Best” and “Fostering the Future” — are just how she’s characterizing her efforts to raise money for other groups. Proceeds from the Florida event are meant for an organization called Gen Justice, apparently.
Dishonest reporting at it again. Everything has been done lawfully, & all documents are in the works. Read with caution-typical corrupt media.
We are working w/Bradley Impact Fund, a Donor-Advised Fund, to select charities that will receive the donations to foster children. https://t.co/5ZKr5SwIZz

Melania also said that she’ll be working with the “Bradley Impact Fund, a donor-advised fund, to select charities that support foster children,” explaining that the organization “will disburse funds raised through the efforts of Fostering the Future to the respective beneficiaries.” There are other questions remaining, such as what level of oversight there’s going to be over these arrangements. The Trump Foundation quite literally shut down amid a storm of controversy about its money being used for non-charitable causes, such as an instance where $10,000 was spent on a portrait of Donald that went up at one of his golf properties — in other words, being concerned wouldn’t be unreasonable.
