People were emotionally stunned after the January 6 Committee’s latest hearing and were left with no doubt about Donald Trump’s intentions and guilt. Afterward, Secretary Hillary Clinton, who is also an attorney, tweeted a concise summary of the hearing’s bottom line.
She pointed out that Trump knew exactly what he wanted in the days between December 18, 2020 and January 6, 2021. The attempted coup was no “accident or coincidence.” And the entire incident “was organized, deliberate, and premeditated.” Clinton laid out the evidence for Americans and for Attorney General Merrick Garland to pursue:
‘Trump was crystal clear about his wishes in the lead-up to January 6th.
‘What happened that day was not an accident or a coincidence.
‘It was organized, deliberate, and premeditated.’
Counsel to the President, the office not the president, Pat Cipollone, called for evidence of a stolen election. But there was none, as The Esquire Magazine wrote:
‘The meeting devolved into a shouting match as the Flynn-Giuliani-Powell Axis Of Stupid pitched as many evidence-free conspiracy theories as the room could hold, deploying what Cipollone drolly described as “a general disregard for the importance of actually backing up what you say.” Witnesses explained that the theory that Venezuela was changing votes through thermostats hooked up to the Internet…’
