When Donald Trump is afraid, he has a four-pronged response which is often exercised concurrently. Number one, the former president sues his adversaries. Second, the previous POTUS attacks them. Third, Trump projects his own actions onto others. And fourth, 45 still manages to play the victim. With the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) affidavit scheduled to be released by the FBI before noon on Friday, the former president predictably lashed out.
Trump’s anger has reached the stage where he viciously attacked everyone from President Joe Biden’s son to the “Fake News Media:”
‘Even though I am as innocent as a person can be, and despite MY campaign being spied on by the Radical Left, the FISA COURT being lied to and defrauded, all of the many Hoaxes and Scams that were illegally placed on my by very sick & demented people, and without even mentioning the many crimes of Joe and Hunter Biden, all revealed in great detail in the Laptop From Hell, it looks more and more like the Fake News Media is pushing hard for the Sleaze to do something that should not be done.’
Trump had also sued the FBI for an apolitical special master to go over the documents to see if any could go back to 45. Then, the president continued his rant on TruthSocial, according to The Independent:
‘[The DOJ and FBI are] political Hacks and Thugs [who] had no right under the Presidential Records Act to storm Mar-a-Lago and steal everything in sight, including Passports and privileged documents.’
The National Archives, which stores all of these records had even sent its top guy down to ask for the records in person. Trump turned over part of the records, totaling 700 pages. But he retained at least that many more.
The Archives told Trump that it had sent the documents it retrieved earlier to the FBI to determine the ex-president’s liability. Still, the former president just dumped most of the documents into an easily and often accessible first-floor storage area, The Business Insider reported.
So the FBI and the DOJ were completely covered legally in the search of Mar-a-Lago. They retrieved another 300 top secret documents. But Trump complained, falling into his victim role:
‘They even broke into my safe with a safecracker – Can you believe? This Act was created for a very good reason, and it works. We are right now living in a Lawless Country that just so happens to be, also, a Failing Nation!’
The FBI conducted a search warrant after months of trying to get him to return the presidential documents and artifacts plus top secret files. That is what the FBI does. In fact, the DOJ was especially cautious with the ex-president. It took 18 months to reach the FBI search.
After the search, Trump’s attorneys also “signed a legal document stating that there were no more classified documents at his Palm Beach” club/home.
Trump’s Truth Social message could forebode a total meltdown.
