Amid an ongoing flurry of angry posts on social media from Donald Trump, Joe Biden has taken the opportunity of another holiday — this time, Easter Sunday — to again exemplify the contrast between what the major political parties have to offer heading into the 2024 elections and beyond.
“Jill and I join Christians around the world in celebrating Easter Sunday,” a message posted this weekend on the president’s Twitter account said. “We wish you hope, health, joy, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding. Happy Easter and may God bless and keep you.”
Just because he’s forced himself into relevancy by announcing another campaign for president, here’s what Trump had to say around that same point: “HAPPY EASTER TO ALL, INCLUDING THOSE THAT DREAM ENDLESSLY OF DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF DREAMING ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE, THOSE THAT ARE SO INCOMPETENT THEY DON’T REALIZE THAT HAVING A BORDER AND POWERFUL WALL IS A GOOD THING, & HAVING VOTER I.D., ALL PAPER BALLOTS, & SAME DAY VOTING WILL QUICKLY END MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD, & TO ALL OF THOSE WEAK & PATHETIC RINOS, RADICAL LEFT DEMOCRATS, SOCIALISTS MARXISTS, & COMMUNISTS WHO ARE KILLING OUR NATION, REMEMBER, WE WILL BE BACK!”
Nobody is “killing” off the United States, but yet again, this is where Trump is sticking: a message of hatred for the United States as it currently stands, laced with animosity towards those unlike him and the underlying democratic principle that’s supposed to guide this country of accepting our differences.
Jill and I join Christians around the world in celebrating Easter Sunday.
We wish you hope, health, joy, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding.
Happy Easter and may God bless and keep you.
