Trump Is Screaming Online That His Cases ‘MUST STOP’ Because… He Said So?

A new tactic for the courtroom?

In recent commentary on his knock-off social media site Truth Social, former President Donald Trump took to just yelling — meaning, in this context, posting in all caps — that the various prosecutions he is facing “must stop.” Among other claims, he also characterized the cases as “Communism” and accused those behind the cases for the umpteenth time of election interference. There is no clear evidence of the prosecutors who brought these charges having targeted the upcoming elections, in which Trump announced his participation after all four underlying investigations were already publicly known. The processes of the justice system routinely take an extended period of time.

“ALL POLITICAL PROSECUTIONS OF YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENT, ME, MUST STOP IMMEDIATELY,” Trump bellowed Monday, ignoring the polling that shows he’s actually profoundly unpopular among many Americans. “WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ELECTION, PERHAPS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY, AND THESE RADICAL LEFT LUNATIC PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE DOING THIS. WHY DIDN’T THEY START THREE YEARS AGO??? BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO INTERFERE WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024, THAT’S WHY!”

Trump also alleges that the White House — meaning President Joe Biden and his closest team — is involved in proceedings he’s facing, again with no clear evidence to actually back him up.

The former president and continued front-runner for Republicans’ presidential nomination this year taking to the internet with demands for his prosecutions to stop — delivered with melodramatic confidence — arguably smacks of extreme desperation as his defenses keep failing in court. Trump’s maligned claims of procedural protections by mere virtue of once serving as president that supposedly should stop his federal case related to his post-2020 election attempts to stay in power haven’t gotten anywhere beyond letting him have a delay that’s potentially soon going to end.
