Trump Condemned As ‘Paranoid & Feeble’ After Latest Bizarre Outburst Amid Trial

In a strange tirade on Friday on the occasion of him showing up again for court amid his New York City criminal trial on charges of falsifying business records in connection to hush money from before the 2016 elections, former President Donald Trump suggested there was a conspiracy afoot that made him… cold.

Trump complained to gathered media about “another day of court in a freezing courthouse. It’s very cold in there — on purpose, I believe. They don’t seem to be able to get the temperature up. It shouldn’t be that complicated. But we have a freezing courthouse, and that’s fine. That’s just fine. Let ’em keep handing it out. There’s a rigged trial. Thank you.”

A rapid response team that’s part of the Biden campaign responded. “A paranoid and feeble Trump says he’s too weak to sit in court all day because it’s “cold” and claims there’s a conspiracy against him to make the room cold “on purpose,”” they said on social media of the clip. It’s unclear if there’s any real-world evidence in this universe to prove some kind of, uh, conspiracy that’s making Trump cold. Is that going to be his next appeal/attempt to shut things down? “Your Honor, I was very chilly”?

Trump’s courthouse rants already got him in trouble before. In court while pushing accusations that Trump has violated a gag order in the case, prosecutors pointed to complaints in much the same set-up about Michael Cohen — a now former ally of his who is expected as a trial witness in this criminal case, which stems in part from hush money arrangements in which Cohen was involved. There’s a second hearing coming up next week specifically covering allegations from prosecutors of Trump violating the gag order. Prosecutors have pushed for Trump to be held in contempt and given financial penalties.
