One of the greatest mysteries of Donald Trump’s presidency has been his fawning over Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader was in the KGB and has done plenty to earn criticism. That included attacking the U.S.’s presidential election, 2018 midterm elections, and our very democracy. He even stole detailed voting records of 500,000 Americans. Yet, 45 still continues with his pillow talk?

Trump tried to embed his soft murmurs to the Russian dictator inside of a World Cup message. No one missed his “congratulations” to Putin, though:
‘Congratulations to France, who played extraordinary soccer, on winning the 2018 World Cup. Additionally, congratulations to President Putin and Russia for putting on a truly great World Cup Tournament — one of the best ever!’
The problem with Trump’s approach to Putin has been that the Russian leader has only respected strength. U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) wondered about our commander-in-chief’s timing, according to The Boston Herald:
‘President Trump must be willing to confront Putin from a position of strength and demonstrate that there will be a serious price to pay for his ongoing aggression towards the United States and democracies around the world. If President Trump is not prepared to hold Putin accountable, the summit in Helsinki should not move forward.’
The Donald made no bones about how weakly he would approach Putin in their one-on-one meeting in Helsinki, Finland:
‘I will absolutely bring that up. I don’t think you’ll have any “Gee, I did it. I did it. You got me.”‘
Real strong, Mr. President, real strong.
