There is something very wrong in the White House. We know that Donald Trump watches up to eight hours of television every day and invited Hannity, on Fox host, Sean Hannity, to Mar-a-Lago over Easter. Unfortunately, the latest discovery about Trump may explain why the president appears to live in a world that is not quite reality.
Trump adores Lou Dobb’s show and his TV style. The commander-in-chief frequently calls Dobbs for gossip or advice. The president socializes with Dobbs and even gave the personality an interview. That is no different from how he treats other television personalities.
Unfortunately, there is more to their relationship. A top White House official told The Daily Beast that Trump and Dobbs have a mutual admiration society going:
‘He cherishes Lou.’
Apparently, Russian President Vladimir Putin is not Trump’s only man-crush. In 2016, Trump tweeted the TV personality to say, “You are the best:”
‘”@chrisboydbrew: @LouDobbs @realDonaldTrump @FoxBusiness.. Saw your interview. You are the best! Great questions, great answers” Lou is great.’
The president of these United States patches Dobbs into Oval Office meetings as a working member of policy decisions. According to the Daily Beast, he will “ask Dobbs for his opinion:”
‘Trump will ask Dobbs for his opinion before and after his senior aides or Cabinet members have spoken. Occasionally, he will cut off an official so the Fox Business host can jump in.’
In 2017, Lou Dobbs went to the White House to interview 45:
‘Beautiful day at the White House! Just wrapped my exclusive interview with @realDonaldTrump. Watch tonight on FBN7P #Dobbs #MAGA #TrumpTrain’
Trump has the TV personality listening and participating in:
‘Senior-level meetings on issues such as trade and tax policy—meetings that featured officials such as senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, former top economic adviser Gary Cohn, former chief strategist Steve Bannon, trade adviser Peter Navarro, and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.’
Then, there was the time Trump took Dobbs’ opinion over the Supreme Court’s in March 2018:
‘Department of Justice should have urged the Supreme Court to at least hear the Drivers License case on illegal immigrants in Arizona. I agree with @LouDobbs. Should have sought review.’
The president told his personal secretary to have Dobbs on the line during the final rounds of the recent tax-bill. Then, there was the meeting where Dobbs said goodbye and:
‘Trump looked up, smiled, and simply told the room, “Love Lou.”’
Dobbs has been a radio host and television personality. Yes, he covered economic events. For his coverage of the 1987 stock market crash, Dobbs received the George Foster Peabody Award, according to biography.com. That does not make him an economist.
He even received the Eugene Katz Award For Excellence for the Coverage of Immigration Award from Center for Immigration Studies in 2004. Yet, that does not make him an immigration expert any more than his National Space Club Media Award made him an astronaut.
True, Dobbs earned an undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard in 1967, but he dropped out of law school.
