Donald Trump has had a very bad week. The Mueller probe into his 2016 presidential campaign’s alleged collusion with Russian government operatives took a few giant leaps forward thanks to the lies Trump’s oldest son told, Trump’s former White House adviser and liaison to the black community came out with a tell-all book about Trump’s racism and mental deficiencies, and his approval ratings are still in a decline.
What does an orange president with such worrisome problems do but go on Twitter to air all his grievances?
So far, Trump has referred to his own appointees as “dogs,” “lowlives,” and fake. Also, he still doesn’t know how to spell “counsel.” None of this should make Americans feel any less secure about the country’s current president.
Underneath all of the animus and anger is a true lack of empathy and leadership. Trump has no words of comfort or sympathy for those injured during the incident in London on Tuesday morning, which authorities there are treating as a terrorist attack but have released no real information yet.
He doesn’t seem to understand that hiring a representative for black Americans to the White House that he says now he knew wasn’t doing her job or even qualified to do so is more a reflection on his own dismissal of their needs and struggles than on Omarosa, whom everyone already knew was crazy.
The only victim of anything in Donald Trump’s mind is Trump himself, and he sees no problem with whining to the entire world about it.
Twitter was not having Trump’s pity party, either. See some of their responses below:
