Donald Trump has said many things on Twitter that were controversial, shocking, insulting, and downright petty. His Sunday afternoon Twitter tantrum was truly jaw-dropping.
For anyone who missed it, that was the president of the United States calling a sitting member of Congress, the new head of the House Intelligence Committee, “little Adam Schitt” instead of Alan Schiff. This is how low the country has sunk under the presidency of Donald Trump.
For the record, there is no congressional requirement for a special counsel to be approved by the Senate. There is, however, a requirement that anyone who serves as the U.S. attorney general should be. Matthew Whitaker’s controversial denouncement of the Mueller probe prior to serving as acting attorney general, as well as his refusal to release his financial records, makes it appear he has something to hide.
Trump finally remembered the caravan he fear-mongered around during the midterms, too. There is absolutely no indication at this point that these are violent criminals nor that they are attempting to come into the country illegally. Our country is well-equipped to handle immigrants, that’s how the entire population of the U.S., with exceptions like Native Americans and those whose ancestors were brought over as slaves, got to this country.
Previews of Trump’s Fox News interview with Chris Wallace already indicate that Trump will dial up the crazy, lie about the judge’s ruling in the Jim Acosta case, and fail to manage even the most softball of Fox News questions well.
