Trump Says Obama Home Has 10Ft Barrier – Barack’s Neighbors Respond

Donald Trump just can’t let go of his jealousy of his predecessor, Barack Obama. POTUS appears to find it puzzling that a black man could better him in so many different ways. The sitting president’s obvious racism leads him into some strange and dangerous places.

The commander-in-chief has appears obsessed with the idea of building a wall along the U.S.’s southern border — with spikes along the top of it. He wants to keep legal refugees from entering this country. Again, his racism is showing.

For some reason, Trump tweeted that President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama have a 10-foot wall outside of their D.C. home. He was wrong, just ask the neighbors.

The 45th president shut down the government in an attempt to force the House and Senate to give him $5 billion for his wall that would be “a slightly larger version” than that surrounding the Obamas’ 8,200-square-foot home. Trump’s comment is a blatant lie, because the Obama’s home is fully visible from the street, according to The Washington Post:

A longtime member of the neighborhood said:

‘(Trump) has a very active imagination. There’s a fence that goes along the front of the house, but it’s the same as the other neighbors have. It’s tastefully done.’

A second neighbor explained that the Obamas’ home is “100 percent visible from the street:”

‘There is no 10-foot wall in the front, back or sides of the house — and no wall is going up.’

President and Mrs. Barack Obama bought a home in the same neighborhood as many past presidents: Warren Harding, Herbert Hoover, Franklin Roosevelt, William Taft, and Woodrow Wilson.

The Obamas bought the nine-bedroom mansion at a cost of $8.1 million in 2017. They wanted to remain in the Washington D.C. area so that their youngest daughter could finish high school where she started. The sitting president’s daughter Ivanka Trump and Amazon founder and The Post owner Jeffrey Bezos live in the same area, too.

The Post‘s Fact Checker said that the Obamas home certainly was not a compound. The couple added a guard booth to offer the Secret Service shelter. They also added “security fencing to a retaining wall” which was at the front of the home. Fencing was added to the back yard:

‘In trying to make the case for a high concrete border wall, Trump exaggerates about the Obama house in Washington, D.C. It is an 8,200 square foot Tudor-style home in the Kalorama residential area, but it is not a “compound.” The Obamas added security fencing to an enlarged retaining wall in front for the needs of the Secret Service but there is not a ten-foot wall around the house; the front steps are open to the sidewalk. Chain link fencing, but no wall, was added to the back. While Trump says the border wall would be a “slightly larger version” of the alleged Obama wall, he has previously described his proposed wall as 1,000 miles long, made of precast concrete slabs, rising 35 to 40 feet in the air.’

Some people found Trump’s tweet careless. Father of one of the students killed in the shooting at the Parkland school tweeted a response. Fred Guttenberg wrote:

‘Are you seriously trying to put our former President at risk?’

Trump wrongly tweeted that it was the Democrats rejecting his wall:

‘They say it’s old technology – but so is the wheel. They now say it is immoral- but it is far more immoral for people to be dying!’
