Trump Says He Doesn’t Care If People Aren’t Getting Paid During Shutdown

The recording of Trump in the White House arguing with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer should just be played on an endless loop these days. Despite Trump’s bragging that he would be “proud” to shut down the government to get his way on border wall funding, in which he also said that he would “take the mantle” for the shutdown, Trump continues to blame Democrats for not giving in and causing the shut down that has now lasted 14 days.

The shutdown does not just affect those who work for the government and there’s no indication that most government workers are Democrats. The IRS will not be issuing tax refund checks to Democratic and Republican voters alike. Elderly, Republican parents being cared for by their adult children, both Republican and Democrat, who work for the government will suffer. Both Democrats and Republicans flying on airplanes will be doing so without TSA screening.

Government shutdowns affect everyone.

While Trump lounges and tweets on his phone, Democrats are currently meeting with Vice President Pence to discuss any possible compromise that can be made to stop the shutdown short of five billion wasted dollars on an unnecessary and ineffective border wall. Trump may be asking where Democrats are today, but that would mean he’s unaware of what’s happening in the White House, far more unaware than the average American, in fact.

Twitter knows exactly who is responsible for the shutdown and they let Trump know it. Read some of their comments below:
