Everyone in the Trump administration and the GOP wants to slam Michael Cohen for being a convicted liar, but they never acknowledge that Cohen was convicted of lying for Trump or that Trump himself lies on a daily basis about nearly everything, including things that make no sense (inauguration crowd size, anyone?).

The House Oversight Committee announced on Monday that they had sent document requests to 81 different people associated with Trump and his administration. One of the people whose documents were requested was the man who made a name for himself pushing those ridiculous Trump lies: former White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Spicer appeared on Fox News on Tuesday to discuss those requests, as well as to answer questions about Rep. Ilhan Omar and, of course, Hillary Clinton. He said that he would be happy to comply with the House committee’s request.

‘I will do everything to facilitate this investigation and there’s nothing that I have to hide. So I want a swift conclusion to this whole thing as soon as possible.’

While he acknowledged that the committee has a responsibility to conduct oversight of the president, he called the investigation into Trump’s personal finances a “wild fishing expedition,” so he’s still toeing the Trump part line. Perhaps he’s forgotten the Whitewater investigation into the Clintons that turned up nothing and the impeachment that the investigation led to about the president lying about a consensual affair.

‘They have a constitutional right and responsibility to exhibit oversight over the executive branch. But going back through the president’s personal finances and history, you know, who knows how far, Seems a bit of an expedition as opposed to enacting agenda that they put the American people to be elected to govern on.’

Spicer is one of many who received a request, although he’s unlikely to be in the last group of people to do so. According to the committee, this is just the first round of document requests that will be completed in their investigation.

According to The Daily Beast:

‘There are many requests about why certain people did not receive letters today,” a spokesman for the committee said. “I want to reiterate… that this was the first phase of document requests. We have more letters coming soon.’
