- When Donald Trump blunders into the arms of the British royals, people cringe. He has shown his lack of manners when he walked in front of Queen Elizabeth last year. This year, he started calling the newest member of the royal family, Meghan Merkle, “nasty.” On a roll, the self-described king of America name-called London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan. It makes those on this side of the Atlantic Ocean yearn for President Barack Obama, and this is how.

At the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto for the NBA Finals, the crowd began chanting “MVP! MVP!” Then, the camera closed in on President Obama. Touchingly, he was surprised:

The fans honored our hoop-loving President Obama during the second quarter as his image appeared on the big screen. As the president stood, the crowd cheered and gave him a standing ovation:

Obama came into the arena in the company of the Raptors’ president and general manager Masai Ujiri. Last year, the two men attended an event in Kenya. The cameras followed 44 as he walked in wearing his favorite black leather jacket. He greeted both the reports and fans.
Our last president sat next to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver for the game. The Golden State Warriors won 109-194 against the Raptors. Each team had one game apiece before heading to California.
