Kellyanne Conway works in a cauldron of chaos called the White House. Her boss is given to spontaneous enraged combustions, and the work environment is so toxic that few advisers have survived the two-plus years Donald Trump has been in office. It gets worse.
The counselor to the president is also married to the brilliant Washington, D.C. attorney, George Conway. He just wrote a scathing column calling for Trump’s impeachment. Eamon Javers was the unfortunate CNBC’s correspondent who caught her right after the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (not Robert Mueller) called for her to leave office. When he asked her for a response, she bit his head off:
‘I was just standing in an office in the WH press office when Kellyanne Conway came in. I asked for her reaction to this. She pointed to the door and said “can you leave, please?” Later, I asked her again, and she said: “I have no reaction. Why would I give you a reaction?“
The federal Office of Special Counsel (OSC) sent Donald Trump a report requesting he remove her from office for violating “the Hatch Act on numerous occasions.” The 1939 Hatch Act said that no one but the president and vice president and a few other top officials can mix work with politics. Kellyanne was not exempt:
‘The U.S. Office of Special Counsel today sent a report to Trump finding that Kellyanne Conway violated the Hatch Act on numerous occasions. OSC recommends that she be removed from federal service.’
