Donald Trump stole the 4th of July from the American people. He went to visit France’s President Emmanuel Macron on Bastille Day and thought the big military parade was for him. It was not. Since then, POTUS has been hot to have his own military parade. He wanted to steal Veteran’s Day, but his former Secretary of Defense and Marine General James Mattis said no. Then, the president got rid of him and installed an acting secretary that bent to his bullying.
The president named it the Trump Salute to America that will be bigger and better than Macron’s parade with double the usual amount of fireworks and an extensive VIP seating for top Republican donors and Republican legislators. The White House said it was open to the public, but the Baby Trump balloon has to stay outside with the protesters.
The troops have been recalled from their families to participate, and POTUS even lassoed the Muppets into coming on their day off. The National Park Service is under the Department of Interior and hoped Trump would pay them back the millions he still owes them from 2016 before they had to divert funds from maintenance.
Others worry the 60-ton tanks will chew up Pennsylvania Avenue and the National Monument.
The man who occasionally sits in the Oval Office will officiate over his “one-of-a-kind music and air power experience” the DOI wrote:
‘This year’s annual Independence Day celebration on the National Mall, will feature music, flyovers, fireworks, and an address by President Donald J. Trump. Salute to America will honor each of the nation’s five service branches with music, military demonstrations, multiple flyovers including a flight demonstration by the Blue Angels, and much more.
