President Donald Trump is clearly feeling the heat of the upcoming elections. Early this Wednesday afternoon, he had a raging meltdown on Twitter over polls measuring hypothetical general election match-ups between him and Democratic presidential primary candidates, most of which show Trump losing. In classically ridiculous Trumpian fashion, the president insisted that the supposed real polls — wherever they are — show him in the lead. In other words, even as president of the United States, he’s publicly refusing to acknowledge duly documented reality, which doesn’t exactly bode well for national security.
He railed:
‘Internal REAL Polls show I am beating all of the Dem candidates. The Fake News Polls (here we go again, just like 2016) show losing or tied. Their polls will be proven corrupt on November 3rd, just like the Fake News is corrupt!’

Perhaps these mysterious “internal” polls are going on in Trump’s head. Imagine it — the president standing in front of the mirror, asking his reflection if he’ll vote for him. Of course, he says yes — and then he mutters to himself that he’s vanquished the fake news yet again.
In reality, some internal polls from the Trump campaign did leak earlier in the presidential primary process — and they showed him losing to then-frontrunner Joe Biden big time. There’s no apparent reason to think that reality has shown any major shift in the time since. An ABC News/Washington Post poll released just this week measuring support in hypothetical general election match-ups had Trump losing to Bernie Sanders by six percent, Joe Biden by seven percent, Mike Bloomberg by five percent, and more.
