It was as if he opened the book of history and stepped out of its pages. Never have Americans missed their leader and comforter President Barack Obama as much. His former vice president Joe Biden announced that he accepted as his role as the Democratic contender in the 2020 presidential election. That freed Obama to speak once again.
Obama tweeted about Massachusett’s “own public health plans.” Then, he invited all of the states to join in and copy this successful health care plan, to “adopt their own public health plans to combat this virus.”
In his handful of words, 44 comforted the nation by understanding that people have been eagerly awaiting a “coherent national plan” that would get America through this pandemic. Then, Obama pointed to the right path for his people to follow, and because they trusted him, they followed it. Finally, this sorely-missed president told us how to build a boat at the end of that path, by following Massachusett’s public health plan to cross these troubled pandemic waters:
‘While we continue to wait for a coherent national plan to navigate this pandemic, states like Massachusetts are beginning to adopt their own public health plans to combat this virus––before it’s too late.’
Twitter world said hello to their favorite president. Check out some of our favorite responses below:
