This Sunday is First Lady Melania Trump’s birthday, and her husband — President Donald Trump — got her an… eight-word tweet. Tweets are just about all that the president can be counted on for at this point. Melania’s past birthdays while the Trumps have been in the White House have featured “highlights” like the president delivering rambling diatribes during a phone conversation with Fox & Friends, and this time, the president faced criticism for barely even attempting to feign any kind of warmth on the part of his family. In the tweet about Melania’s birthday, he didn’t even mention their relationship, just that she’s the First Lady!
He tweeted:
‘Happy Birthday to Melania, our great First Lady!’

Melania hasn’t really done much while she’s been First Lady. She made a show of launching an anti-bullying initiative at one point, but that hasn’t really manifested in anything other than a few meetings. Her other projects have included hyping up minor renovations to a tennis pavilion on the White House grounds… and that’s about it.
As one commenter put it in reply to the president:
‘Happy Birthday! 53,000+ American deaths, but how’s the tennis pavilion coming along?’

And as actor John Fugelsang mockingly added:
‘Happy Birthday Melania After: -spreading a racist slur abt Obama not being born here -plagiarizing Michelle Obama speeches -working in US w/out a permit -lying abt your college degree -bringing your parents here thru chain migration …you’ve earned all the happiness you’ve got.’

The Trump administration has even actively sought to overturn the accomplishments of former First Lady Michelle Obama. They tried to lighten nutritional standards for school lunches that Michelle Obama had helped implement — although that Trump administration undoing attempt was recently struck down in court.
