Apparently, Donald Trump was putting his fingers in his ears and repeating “Lalalala. I can’t hear you!” as he approached Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s outdoor memorial. He has been busy “putting a dagger in the Constitution,” according to the infamous investigative journalist Bob Woodward on MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace on Deadline: White House. Americans are not happy.
Both Trump and First Lady Melania Trump wore masks as they came to Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg’s American flag-draped casket at her outdoor memorial. People were standing in line waiting to honor the tiny superhero who spent her whole life fighting for us.
When they captured a glimpse of the Trumps, they began to boo and chant “vote him out,” according to NBC News. The Notorious RBG is the first woman in American history to lie in state at the U.S. Capitol and only the second woman appointed to the Supreme Court.
Her dying wish, the one she asked her granddaughter to convey was to wait for the next president to fill her Supreme Court seat. Senate Leader Moscow Mitch McConnell (R-KY) waited about two whole hours before announcing he would jamb a third justice through for Trump ASAP. Ginsburg’s seat on the high court was still warm.
POTUS spoke to reporters on his way to another campaign rally in North Carolina:
‘Well I think that was just a political chant, I couldn’t — we could hardly hear it from where we were. Somebody said there was some chanting, but they were right next to the media. But really couldn’t hardly hear too much. We heard a sound, but it wasn’t very strong.’
As Woodward says, “Things are getting worse.” He actually said Trump is creating a “trainwreck” of not accepting the results of November’s election. And “people are numb.”
There were 1,000 brothers, sisters, children, parents, and spouses dying of the coronavirus every day. Thursday, that number jumped to 3,000. The reason? Trump wanted people to go back to school. And like lemmings, they went.
