President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden are set to soon face-off in their first debate — and now, Trump says that he will be “strongly demanding” a drug test for Biden prior to the debate. (He says he’ll take one himself too.) To be clear: there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Joe Biden is on any kind of performance-enhancing drugs or anything of the sort, and it’s absolutely ridiculous that this fact needs to be reiterated in the first place. The problem is that Trump is so perpetually lost in his own ego that he’s disconnected from reality. He’ll say just about anything, it seems, because his overriding goal is winning.
He tweeted:

Again — this is nonsense. There is absolutely zero evidence — none at all — that Biden is on any kind of performance-enhancing drugs. Trump’s insistence that Biden’s “Debate performances have been record setting UNEVEN” is not verifiable, either; it’s paranoid conjecture that isn’t tied to any compelling piece of evidence or reality. Trump suggesting that Biden is secretly an alien invader from Mars would be on par with the president’s claim that Biden might secretly be on drugs. It’s that ridiculous and completely baseless.
It will be noteworthy to see how Trump reacts to squaring off with Biden in person. Trump doesn’t exactly take criticism or scrutiny well — at all — so major Trump meltdowns might be on the horizon. During the 2016 election season, polls consistently showed that voters thought that Hillary Clinton “won” the debates. Biden is in a significantly better polling position overall than Hillary, so he might “win” in the minds of voters too.
