Trump Attempts Shady Legal Move To Block Michigan Vote Certification

The Republican legislators have killed their party. Although the GOP had a different set of objectives from the Democratic Party, both parties came from a common set of patriotic virtues. Take Senator John McCain (R-AZ). He was no Democrat, but when he was running against President Barack Obama, he gave us a clear picture of what a Republican politician used to be.

A woman in a town hall said:

‘I can’t trust Obama. I have read about him and he’s not… he’s not… he’s an Arab. And…’

He leaned toward her and said gently, according to The Chicago Tribune:

‘No, ma’am. He’s a decent family man, citizen, that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues. That’s what this campaign is all about.’

The woman seemed stunned. Even then, Donald Trump’s hand was involved in trying to discredit Obama with reckless propaganda.

McCain may have been one of the last true Republicans. The Lincoln Group consists of Republican and former Republican strategists committed to Trump’s downfall. They say the same thing, hoping to tear the country from 45’s greedy grip.

Beginning in the Ronald Reagan presidency, a group of people committed to greed started planning to shift money from the people to the upper-income group. Once set in motion, that system has continued until today and has run roughshod over our democracy. Now, look at what we have. The Tea Party morphed into the Trump Party where money and power are the only destinations.

People are rightfully angry, but they put their money on the wrong man.

Majority Leader Moscow Mitch McConnell clearly does not care about Americans thrown out of work or the hundreds of thousands of people dying in the coronavirus pandemic. The people in his Senate follow along in silent quiescence. They could have joined together with the Democratic Party and handled this terrible viral attack. Instead, they handed themselves over to a man with no roots in reality or anything good.

Spokesperson for the Michigan Department of State Jake Rollow released a statement claiming the Trump campaign was “promoting false claims to erode public confidence in Michigan’s elections,” according to Yahoo News:

‘It does not change the truth: Michigan’s elections were conducted fairly, securely, transparently, and the results are an accurate reflection of the will of the people.’

Now, Trump has refused to hand the keys to the White House over to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. The sitting president claims fraud, a fantasy he created and convinced himself to believe. In Michigan, Trump is behind Biden over 148,000 votes. His lawsuit does not even make sense.

Trump’s presidential campaign went to court in Michigan to halt the US from certifying its election results. His attorneys claim many individuals submitted affidavits alleging voting misconduct in the Detroit area, where the Democrats are strong.

If that sounds familiar, the Republican conspiracy and propaganda generator Project Veritas found a USPS postal worker who signed an affidavit claiming voter fraud by his supervisors When the Senate Oversight Committee investigated, his story fell apart.

These allegations are also like those in lawsuits in other swing states. Maybe, Trump wants a second term. His mind goes down so far into the bowels of the abyss, it is nearly impossible to anticipate his next move. His reelection campaign sued Michigan during the vote-counting phase claiming the Republican poll challengers were being harassed. They sued to let them stand six-feet instead of 10 feet away from those counting votes. The attorneys also challenged “illegal and ineligible ballots were counted.”

Trump does not want Michigan’s election results certified before it confirms all the ballots were correctly counted. This even though the president’s own invitation to two international election surveying organizations gave the nation high marks. Trump’s lawsuit even claims a special election might be required in certain “problematic precincts.”

Where are the Republican lawmakers who would have held Trump’s feet to the fire in an earlier time? Not putting country before party, for sure, even though this presidential conduct puts the nation at risk in the world. The transition of presidents is always a fraught time, and they know it better than most.
